The Vision Behind Crow’s Nest
The reason behind my rebrand and what to except from my publication moving forward.
When developing this publication and the overall rebrand, I made a conscious effort to avoid using corvids—ravens, crows, etc.—despite having a character in development who is deeply tied to raven symbolism. But ultimately, I wanted to build a space that reflects how I create, how I think and what I love—and so, a crows nest fit the bill.
Why Crow’s Nest?
The name wasn’t chosen lightly. Crows, ravens, and other corvids are intelligent, curious, and deeply symbolic creatures. They’re collectors—not just of shiny objects, but of meaning, myth, and presence.
That’s exactly what this publication aims to be:
A place where stories from across genres can live side-by-side. A nest of collected fiction, full of trinkets, scraps, and fragments woven together by curiosity and a love of storytelling.
The Visual Language
Every part of the branding was chosen to evoke that same sense of mystery, wonder, and collection:
The Primary Logo—a sleek, abstract corvid head with feather motifs—symbolizes both storytelling and intelligence. It feels ancient, like a forgotten sigil, and sharp, like something whispered through folklore.
Typography balances modernity and classic fantasy:
ITC Benguiat brings a sense of history and magic (you might recognize it from classic book titles and even "Stranger Things").
Proxima Nova adds a clean, legible contrast—practical, yet elegant.
The Color Palette was built for tone and mood: (subject to some change.)
Deep blacks and soft greys
Amethyst and indigo blues to reflect fantasy, intuition, and celestial inspiration
A rich golden yellow (HEX #D4AF37) that mimics the allure of a shiny trinket—a nod to a crow’s love of treasure
Moodboard & Visual Themes
The imagery speaks in metaphors:
Constellations. (Corvus) Amethyst crystals. Mythic creatures. Arcane symbols. All of it evokes the kinds of stories I write—or want to write. It’s fantasy, but it’s not confined. It’s a constellation of genres: folklore, epic journeys, slow-burning westerns, otherworldly dramas.
My goal with this brand was to embrace that eclecticism and shape it into an identity—one rooted in a sense of mysticism, much like my earliest inspirations drawn from tarot, celestial symbolism, and the spiritual language of crystals.
While fantasy is the foundation, this isn't a one-genre publication. My creativity is like a crow—it flits, it finds, it gathers. One story might be an expansive, high-fantasy epic. Another might live in the dry dust of a slow-paced, melancholic western. What links them isn’t setting or genre—it’s tone, intent, and emotional texture.
So, if you ever wonder what kind of stories you’ll find here… just think of a crow’s nest: high above the world, built from many things, sharp-eyed and full of strange beauty.

Some changes are subject to happen as I really fall into the new brand but this is what I’ve been working on for a while!
